Dining @ Blacktree Restaurant in Burlington

Trying out one of the best restaurants in Burlington, recommended by Toronto Life magazine as an extraordinary dining experience. I'd have to say a meal here is not cheap, but it's indeed quite impressive.

Food presentation is pretty like a painting and the taste is pretty good for most dishes. The foie gras is literally melt-in-your-mouth delicious! Must try! It comes with an apricot pastry and mocha ice-cream as the side. The composite salad is interesting with quail, quail egg, and beet ravioli. For the main, the poached salmon again is melt-in-you-mouth buttery texture! It also comes with pork belly and scallops which are in comparison, not as good as the fish. The other main which consists of slightly seared swordfish loin, is crispy on the outside but tender on the inside. It comes with a lobster tail & claw & ravioli on the side. The portions of each dish are reasonable, not the tiny ones you usually find in French cuisine. For dessert, the upside-down pineapple pancake and peppercorn parfait is definitely innovative.

Food: 4.5/5 (tasty, pretty, creative, decent portion)
Service: 4/5 (polite)
Decor: 3/5 (stylish but it's in a little house in a relatively small plaza in a small town an hr plus drive away from Toronto)
Price: Dishes range from $20-$40 each.

Location: 3029 New St., Burlington
Phone: 905-681-2882
